Yes we admit that Sony has been going through hell with its online gaming related data leaks, potential lawsuits and bad press, but you have to hand it over to Sony for one thing, they make remarkable gaming consoles, period. From the very beginning when the Sony Playstation came out right up until the latest variant, the Blu-Ray flaunting PS3 Sony has been on top of its game. Sure there have been hiccups along the way when the Playstation Move didn’t get as much attention as the Xbox Kinect, when Wii for a brief period outsold the PS3 and the like but Sony still remains king of the gaming console.

If you are one of those people that have had a lot to do with video games in their lifestyle, you are no stranger to Sony products. If you are one of those avid gamers that have to have a video game with them wherever they go, Sony had also answered your prayers in the past with their very good portable gaming system called the Playstation Portable (PSP). Yes, the PSP has been a very hot commodity in gamers young and old all across the globe and rightfully so; the portable system is quite the gadget and does a number of things well. Carrying the success of the PSP forward, Sony came up with different successors or alternatives, some in the form of upgrades and one in the form of a Smartphone cum PSP called the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. All the upgrades were interesting, but none of them was really mind blowing. Well…… Until Sony just recently announced the Playstation Vita !!!

To start off, the screen now is an OLED screen which will be an improvement over a screen that is already very decent. The device will now house two analog joysticks, one on each side, to make the controls resemble those of a full blown Playstation controller. And now this is where things get better: To further enhance the gameplay, Sony has included its proprietary 6-Axis gyroscopic sensor for motion based gameplay. This is supposedly better in comparison to the iPhone 4 and iPad 2’s gyro sensor. The new screen is actually a touchscreen with multi-touch capabilities. In addition, the back panel of the PSVita is a platform that can be used as a secondary multi-touch touchpad for enhanced gameplay. Yes, it has touch capabilities on both the front and the back!!!
